At first, I cut built the logo with fondant, but it was time consuming. Here is the image for you to save and print. So, I like to place it and then cut it out for a more seamless look. If you cut out the fondant first and then stick the image, it’s a little harder to line up. Put a little crisco on the back of the image to stick it to the fondant and then cut out. I firm up the fondant in the freezer and then apply the edible image. you can print on them with edible ink and cut out. Then, just place them directly to the cake.įor the Paw Patrol logo on the front of the cake, I used Icing Images FlexFrost edible fabric icing sheets. Put the rolled out fondant pieces in the freezer and then cut out the shapes after the fondant was firm. I just free hand cut the spots for the sides of the cake. I just like organize my files so I can find them easily and not have to redo images every time. Ive had to pull this one out several times for different orders. For the nozzle, just form it with your finger and make some tear drip shapes for the water. I’ve been using it for two years and haven’t had an issue with it. I’m sure they are easier/faster but the cheap one works just fine and I’m all about saving money. I debated on buying the more expensive version. So I just stuck with one sided as you see in the picture.įor the fire hose – I used a handy dandy extruder – if you don’t have one of these, your missing out. I tried to put two halves together to make it a 3D fire hydrant but it wasn’t proportionate. The fire hydrant mold was from etsy – this is a great mold. Cut a strip of fondant the same size as the mold to fit around the cake for the finished belt. The buckle is the Marvelous Molds Large Buckle. If you choose to use a paper template – freeze your rolled out fondant for 5-10 mins for a nicer edge. These Impression mats are great for getting the brick design on the fondant before cutting out with your number cutter. For a larger number, you can cut out a template with paper and use that to cut out your shape. Here is a great set of number cutters that are perfect size. Winging it is a good thing sometimes – makes the design unique. You can also just wing it with the idea below. Use image editing software to adjust the sizes of the images to fit your design. However, not so thick because they can become too heavy. Make sure you make your pieces thick enough to insert a toothpick. Layering them to create dimension and stick up on the top of the cake. Then, used them to cut fondant from red, orange and yellow. Fire and Number Toppersįor the fire on the top of the cake, here are a few images that I printed for templates. When I color my modeling chocolate with gel colors, it can make the chocolate soft and difficult to work with. This stuff hardens at room temperature, which is so helpful. I like to color my modeling chocolate with Chef Rubber Cocoa Butter. This stuff is amazing and you will never want to make figurines with anything else after you try it. I love to use Hot Hands Modeling Chocolate. Here is a great tutorial for how to make Marshall. I like to make the figurines and toppers ahead of time so they have time to dry.
